David Seaman Exposed As Publicity Junky and Scammer

“Journalist” David Seaman, who gained a large YouTube and social media following by endlessly hyping the alleged Pizzagate conspiracy, has been exposed in a recent video as a professional publicity hound who wrote and published a book in 2008 revealing his secrets on how to generate money by creating “buzz” around hot-button issues.

YouTube channel LiftTheVeil has produced a 40 minute exposé on Seaman, detailing the various money-generating scams he has run over the years, including a bogus 2014 congressional run where he pocketed $6000 from fundraising and a crowd-funded online morning news show that never materialized. Now he’s profiting from donations and his monetized YouTube channel, where he has milked the Pizzagate controversy to build up more than 150,000 subscribers over the course of a year.

I knew right away that Seaman was a scammer when he put on a big emotional show about being “fired” from Huffington Post after he began writing about Hillary Clinton’s supposedly failing health during the election. As the video shows, he wasn’t fired as he was never actually an employee but an unpaid volunteer blogger, like most HuffPo contributors. Seaman was actually fired from an internship with online site Jezebel, after he staged a phony “Free Paris Hilton” publicity stunt.

In one video I saw, Seaman claimed he was receiving death threats for talking about Wikileaks’ Clinton/Podesta email dump, which is hardly something that would warrant “death threats” from powerful people as he was revealing nothing that wasn’t already freely available online at the Wikileaks site. All he did was talk about what was in some of the emails freely downloadable from Wikileaks. His absurdist hype tipped me off right away that he was merely an attention whore looking to capitalize on the scandals surrounding Clinton to gain a following, as many alt-media charlatans did during the election. As it turns out, that’s what he’s been doing for a long time. Seaman’s 2008 book Dirty Little Secrets of Buzz: How to Attract Massive Attention for Your Business, Your Product, or Yourself is described on Amazon thusly:

With “Pizzagate” and “Hillary’s Health,” Seaman employed the same clickbait techniques of Alex Jones/Infowars, Stefan Molyneux, Milo Yiannopoulos and the Alt-Lite crowd. The exposé video shows that Seaman works with and promotes in his videos a shady company called GoldMoney, which was created by an Israeli Jew named Roy Sebag. The exposé goes over the odd history and dubious nature of the company, which acts sort of like PayPal for online gold and silver bullion transfers, highlighting various bad reviews it has been getting from customers who say it’s a rip-off with terrible customer service.

Seaman’s connection with an Israeli-owned business that deals in precious metals should come as no surprise, as he is himself Jewish and has made his affinity for Israel known in various uploads.

Shortly after the exposé’s release it appears Seaman has deleted all of his YouTube videos and his Twitter account.
